The Dubbing

"Shuffle all" is the vid maker's friend. This is not a song that would normally have come to mind for an SGA vid, but when it came on at work one day, it just seemed perfect for Rodney.

Theme/Structure

This is not a complex vid, thematically - more of a one-note joke. I started by pulling clips at semi-random from a few episodes, and stumbled upon the great lip sync bits for the introduction. I think if I had been trying to find clips that matched, it never would have happened.

You can see that I was being a little lazy at first, pulling primarily from Siege 3 and Hide and Seek, until I got through to the first chorus. After that, it was just a matter of finding at least one "woeful" shot from each episode (barring a few). Probably the hardest part, if you can call it that, was sticking to 'sad, scared, regretful' Rodney faces, leaving all the 'righteous geeky indignance' shots for some other vid. *grin*

Technical Aspects

Though pretty basic, this vid took a while to finish because I first created it in Windows Movie Maker, then recreated it (several times!) in Premiere Pro. I got kind of obsessive about reproducing the WMM draft frame for frame, which turned out to be a great way to learn about the different PPR controls (slip, slide, ripple, roll, etc.). Nothing technically special otherwise - no effects, and only basic transitions.
